The Lace Drop & Gain pickup is designed specifically for drop tunings
and ultra high gain
rock music. A totally re-designed pickup to help solve the common
complaints of Muddy & Mushy tones and loss of single note
articulation & the guitars own unique personality (e.g. model
type & wood characteristics).
The Tech Talk:
Lace used slightly less magnetics than
stock vintage pups - this helps cure the excessive loose string
vibration (caused by Drop Tuning) from overdriving the signal. Then
they mismatch the coils ...so in the bridge pickup the one 15.1k coil
of the 2 coils drives the pup hard--- and the other 9.0k coil,
pull's out the necessary articulation.
Lace's unique patented Sensor design allows the coils to be mismatched.
This is something that can only be slightly altered in a standard
humbucker or what happens is the hum canceling effects will be lost.
Lace pickups are already single coil with no hum so they can add any
combinations together without loosing the hum canceling effects.
Making the Lace "Drop & Gain" pickup unique and one of
a kind.
Lace used the same hot barium ferrite magnets as the High output Lace
Sensor Red pickups.
Dual Coil Neck Pickup Description (4901):
Neck Upper coil - 5.9k ... adds the highs and articulation
Neck Lower coil - 8.9k ... adds the drive, mids, bass and a fuller
fatter, over-wound PAF tone.
This neck pickup will give you that big fat, full, over wound
humbucking sound. It is one killer neck pickup.
Dual Coil Bridge Pickup Description (4902):
Bridge upper coil - 15.1k ... adds the drive, mids, bass and a full,
fat, hot, PAF tone.
Bridge lower coil - 9.0k ... This is the coil that is most
important, it sits closer to the bridge and picks up more highs and
helps get that important articulation that has escaped most high
gain & dropped tune players for years.
Not solely used just for Drop & Gain work ... They're being used
in baritone guitars, also with standard tunings, and they work great
for all types of musical styles.
