The power amplifier is equipped with two EL84s in class-A, and has this special old-VOX-like very musical, creamy, open, sparkling but still warm tube sound. Especially when it is overdriven the musical saturation of the EL84s create unique overtones and harmonics.

The Studiotone has three channels which can be selected on the front panel, but may also be remotely switched with the optional FS2-ST footpedal. The Clean channel is beatifully warm with a rich and sweet clarity useable for any music style. The Overdrive channel houses a wide pallet of juicy crunchy sounds ranging from bluesy to modern rock. The Overdrive+ channel provides killer lead sounds and its rich and musical distortion will give you an incredible singing lead tone with lots of natural harmonics and great definition.

In order to give you more tone options we have added two Voicing switches to the three already powerful tone controls which influence the tone of all three channels. The 2-way "Mid Shift" switch enables you to boost the mid frequencies around 800Hz for a better defined tone. The 3-way “Bright” switch allows you to cut or boost the high frequencies for creating a warmer or a brighter overall sound.

The newly designed VG12-60 Koch speaker is extremely efficient and has a beautifull deep and warm sound with enough highs for a twinkling clean sound. The three speaker output jacks (4, 8 and 16 ohms) enable you to hook up any speaker combination you can think of for ceating even more tones.

The most amazing features of the Studiotone can be found on the back panel. First of all the built-in Power Soak and the Speaker on/off switch enable you to play the Studiotone at full volume and record it in silence, without driving your neighbours crazy. Secondly the Recording output allows you to input your sound (as it comes from the speaker) directly into a mixing console or HD recording system while a speaker simulation filter simulates the sound of a microphone placed in front of the speaker. In order to give you extra voicing possibilities we have added two switches, one for simulating a 1x12 or 4x12 cabinet, the other for selecting the place of the microphone, axis or off-axis. On top of that we added a Line output without frequency compensation for connecting the Studiotone for example to a rack mount power amp and a “To Clean channel” output with frequency compensation. With this unique feature you can input your sound into any other guitar amp's Clean channel for boosting your total volume without loosing the unique sound of the Studiotone. The Headphones output allows you to practice anywhere at any time.

Last but not least the Studiotone comes with a wonderfull sounding Accutronics spring Reverb and an Effects Loop.
