| The GuildŽ GAD-40CE was designed utilizing a body
shape that is the most popular acoustic body shape in the world and has been used for
over 70 years. To accommodate modern playing styles, Guild added a Venetian cut-a-way
for ease in reaching the higher registers of the guitar. The GAD-40CE features solid
Mahogany for the back and sides and a solid spruce top with scalloped bracing. The one
piece mahogany neck is joined with the traditional dovetail neck joint.
Guild uses Indian Rosewood for the fingerboard and bridge, ebony for the pearl dot
inlayed bridge and strap pins, wood bindings, and Grover Rotomatic tuning gears. For the
best in tone and intonation, the GAD-40CE features a bone nut and bone compensated
saddle. For the finishing touches it has classic pearl fingerboard inlays and a wooden
arched case. The GAD-40CE is a guitar worthy of representing over 50 years of fine guitar
building by GuildŽ Guitars.
