EVIDENCE AUDIO CABLES

Evidence Audio

Evidence Audio Lyric HG - Especially well suited for High Gain amplifiers or passive pick-ups where microphonics can be a challenge
Design Consideration: Result:

IGL™ Copper conductors: Smooth midrange and highs

Solid Core Conductors: Preserve clarity and focus, revealing harmonic detail and articulation

20 awg Conductor Size: Large enough to communicate punch and authority, small enough to preserve a sense of air and delicacy

Enhanced Dielectric: Additional air reduces dielectric involvement

Conductive skins applied to positive and negative runs Reduced microphonics with high gain amps

High Density Copper Braid Shield: Nothing but signal gets to your amp

Woven Cloth Jacket Increases flexibility and protection for stage use

In cables with a single right angle, the straight end is the destination end unless otherwise specified. If you want this reversed, it will be a special order and you must make it absolutely clear to me that you are asking me to do a special order.

Evidence Audio Siren II Speaker Cable

Evidence Audio Siren II Speaker Cable - perfect for high-current, amplified signals.

Design Consideration: Result:

IGL™ Copper conductors: Open and extended midrange and high frequencies without glare or etching

Solid Core Conductors: Preserve clarity and focus, revealing harmonic detail and articulation

Open-Core Design: Increases space between conductors to reduce magnetic interaction

15 awg Total Size: A bundle of six 20 awg conductors which avoid skin-effect anomalies yet large enough together to provide ample damping

Polypropylene Insulation: Holds conductors rigid to minimize electro-magnetic modulation of the conductors

Spiraled Geometry: Delivers a dynamic and dimensional presentation

Durable PVC Jacket: Provides flexibility while protecting conductors

Frequently Asked Questions

Q) Why should I buy this cable?
A) Because it sounds better.

Q) How does it sound better?
A) It avoids adding distortions to your signal that other cables add.

Q) Can you describe how it sounds better?
A) The ultimate goal of these cables is to have no sonic signature at all. It hopefully does not sound like anything! One of the better ways to describe the effect of this cable is to describe how other cables sound in comparison. You will notice that most of the problems caused by other cables are "additive" in nature. This is true of most equipment.

Midrange and High Frequencies: Stranded cables and cables that use certain types of copper and silver will have exaggerated mid-range and high frequencies. At first, this noise can trick you into thinking there is more detail. However, with careful listening, you can tell that the detail is actually an irritating edge or distortion on the sound. By comparison, the Evidence Audio cables are not "dark" or "dull." A more likely impression may be that they are "laid-back." All of the detail and high frequency information is there, with nothing added. While most other cables have an edge that grabs your attention, the Evidence Cables simply disappear and let you and your equipment work.

Bass Lines: Listen for articulation. At first, stranded cables may appear to present more bass, but it is often just exaggeration of the harmonics resulting in a "slow, fat" bass without articulation and punch. A solid conductor cable will hit with the bass note very hard, and release as fast as your fingers do from the fret board.

Dynamics and Detail: A by product of the distortions caused by stranded cables is that all the extra content added into the signal obscures the stable detail of the original signal. Compared to the Evidence Audio cables, stranded cables sound more blurry and out of focus. In addition, dynamics are flattened and compressed.

Q) How do stranded cables cause these problems?
A) Every time you send a signal (electricity) through a wire, it generates a magnetic field around the wire. In addition, when you place a wire carrying a signal next to a wire that does not carry a signal, the signal is transferred from one wire to the other. If both wires carry a signal, the magnetic fields can induce change in the signal on the neighboring wires. A stranded cable is made up of many small wires. As each strand in the cable tries to carry your signal to the next piece of equipment, the signal is changed by neighboring strands. In addition, as the strand winds towards the center of the strand bundle, higher frequencies will move towards the outside of the bundle crossing between strands and the layers of oxidation on their surface.

Q) What is IGL™ Copper?
A) IGL stands for increased Grain Linearity. It is a copper that has been refined to a very high degree of purity, and in a manner that causes the copper grains to be very long and line up with parallel boundaries. Longer grains in the copper result in fewer grains per foot. Grains aren't necessarily a bad thing. However, it is the space between the grains where impurities collect. The IGL refining process reduces the number of grains and makes sure that the grains are aligned in a way that doesn't allow for many impurities to collect. IGL Copper is not only very pure; it is pure in a way that results in better sound.

Q) What else is different about the Evidence Audio cables?
A) Most cables not only use a stranded conductor for the positive portion of the signal, they use something far worse for the other 50% of the signal: The shield! The Lyric cable provides an ideal conducting pat for both the positive and negative leads. The shield is not used to carry the signal, but rather to block noise. Inside the cable are two high-quality conductors each dedicated to the signal path.

Q) Aren't stranded cables more flexible than solid-core cables?
A) Yes they are, and for some the difference may be important enough to consider. However, the difference is mostly noticed when coiling the cable rather than when the cable is actually in use. Solid cables like to be coiled with a particular twist to them, and it can take some time to learn how to feel for this in your hands. The cables will want to be rolled in your fingerers before getting wrapped in another loop in your coil. With practice, it's all very easy. Don't let the first impression make you think the cable will be something you trip over on the stage. Sometimes our best equipment requires some extra care and attention.
