Atomic Reactor 112 Tube Amplifier
18 watts, all-tube Class A/B power, 2 x EL84 power tubes

POD is shown for demonstration purposes.
It is not included in the price of the
unit.
The Atomic Reactor 112 is a unique tube
amplifier specifically designed by the legendary amp guru, Harry Kolbe, to bring to life the
tone created by modeling tools, with all of the organic warmth and power our ears love to
hear. Guitarists can now generate the versatile, authentic sounds from dozens of different
tube amps and effects and take them live to every gig, rehearsal and jam session. All you
need is the Atomic Reactor 112 and your amp modeler, which conveniently mounts right into
the amp.
- What makes it the Reactor 112 so special?
- The concept is brilliant
- The engineer is a master
- The design is elegantly simple
- The tones are unbelievable
- The price is right
The inspiration behind Atomic Amps and the Reactor 112 was obvious, but no one stepped up
to do anything about it.
There's an endless universe of distinctive guitar tones out there, but no guitarist can
afford to own the multiple amps and effects needed to produce those tones - and have someone
else lug them around! Then came digital amp modeling technology, an innovation that has
brought the most coveted tones into headphones and studios everywhere.
But try to take that sound live and the results are compromised...
- If you plug a modeler into a tube amp, the amp can't help but color the tone - the
modeler is treated as just another effect in the chain.
- Solid-state amplification is, well, solid-state - tight, compressed and sterile.
- Going direct into a PA system just doesn't cut it - especially for players who rely on
the responsiveness of their amps.
Why is it so tricky to amplify a modeler? Modelers excel in the recording environment and
sound great in headphones, too. In these respects, the modeler is intended to be the end of
the sonic chain. When you try to extend that chain by adding a conventional amplifier, the
live feel is lost. Amplifiers are generally designed to receive a guitar as input, not a
modeler - there's a significant difference. The speakers, cabinet and power amp must be
optimized for its intended input. So, if you want to use your modeler live, you need an amp
designed for that specific purpose.
